Went To a Garden Party

Well today is the big Summer Soiree at the Jordan Valley Garden Park!  I could think of no better song to post today than this one.  Plus…and you’ll understand when you watch this video, which YOU MUST WATCH, how fabulous and wonderful the 70’s really were.

This video was filmed the year I was born.  I wish I could remember how fabulous everyone must have looked when I was an infant.  I don’t really remember anything about my life until the 90’s when everyone was covered in big bulky flannel shirts.  Boo.

I remember cruising along in our family station wagon hearing this song play over the radio and seeing my dad tap his thumbs on the steering wheel as he drove along.  I knew this song made my dad happy, so it made me happy too.  It still does.  I rarely ever hear it anymore, but since I’m going to a Garden Party today I had to post it.

I wonder if Johnny B. Good will make an appearance at the Garden Party tonight?  If he does, I bet he’ll be playing the guitar like he’s ringing a bell. I’ll let you know for sure either way.

Do you remember the song “I Can’t Live Without Your Love and Affection” by Rick Nelson’s twin sons? I think it came out in the early 90s — I was obssesed with that song. Seeing this song by Rick Nelson reminded me of that obession — crazy!

I am sending you this link so that you will have some more “relevant” soft rock to listen to. :p It’s out of Idaho Falls, but you can listen live (stream).

    Enjoy. :)
